Pitanga is proud to be able to say that all of her shoe production finds place in Spain. We don’t approve of child labour, bad work circumstances in Bangladesh, hunger salaries.

We are sure that our customers are more satisfied to walk around on shoes made by happy workers.

Spain has a long tradition of shoe making, most of it finds place in Elche, a city close by Alicante.
Photographer Alfred Mauve went together with Shai Bodiny  to visit the factories where the Pitanga shoes are made.

A Pitanga shoe factory road movie. Below the results.

ON OUR WAY TO THE FACTORY

The trip comprises about 570 km from Barcelona to Elche, where the landscape changes when you descend towards the south.

The palm trees are a fundamental part of the local identity of Elche.
